Webb Motorsports 1st Quarter Update
Webb Motorsports 1st Quarter Update
The biggest question I have is, when will the SportBox be shipping!? The quick answer is, within the next week. I have already delivered the first couple to local owners to be able to test fitment and performance. I will announce pricing, then fill the 19 preorders we have, which will still leave me with another 6 boxes. We have already ordered material for a second run of 24. Stay tuned for the pricing announcement and installed pictures - maybe later today.
The second question is, when will the exhaust be ready? It will be done as soon as the first run of airboxes is out of here. I have tied up over $12,000 in the SportBox, and have another $20,000 already invested in the WMS exhaust. The exhaust has been jigged, and the final version has passed my noise requirement. I have incorporated several new tricks that have not yet been seen on previous prototypes of the WMS exhaust as well. It will have been worth waiting for! I figure it should be in production and ready to ship by the end of this quarter.
I also have a few new items I've been working on - a new intercooler, a couple of racing items, and a header. All of these are well beyond the prototype stage...
As you can see from the above developments, Webb Motorsports is remaining dedicated to the R53 MINI as much as the new R56. That said, the R56 Mule should be arriving by the end of February, and I plan to jump right in on ECU, suspension, intake and exhaust products. We will be bringing the R56 to AMVIV (A MINI Vacation in Vegas) in March along with prototypes.
Speaking of AMVIV, as most of you have seen, I am coming out of Pulley Party retirement for a four day event at Palace Station. If you want to see pricing or the schedule, you can check it out here.
Finally, communications. We are spot on with emails. It still takes time to answer phone messages, so if you need to get a hold of me ASAP, you can through email and I answer within a day or two at most. I answer both info@webbmotorsports.com and my direct email randy@webbmotorsports.com . I will get to the phone stuff, but it certainly takes a lot longer, as I spend 20-30 minutes with everyone I talk to!
Finally, I want to thank everyone who has supported us, new and old. We have been in it from the beginning, and a lot of you still respect that and know the history of Webb Motorsports as an innovator in the industry, and we certainly care about this community. I am in this purely for love of the game at this point, as most of you know that I also fly as a 737 pilot for United Airlines. That means that I can do things just because I think it would be cool to as far as products go - not just to make money. I want to provide the best and most innovative products available for the MINI. We are not going to abandon that goal!!
Stay tuned for SportBox updates and a Product Feature on our Extreme Rear Swaybar
.
Hope that helps!
Randy

Well, I need a to get a new cord for my camera! As soon as I do, I will post some pics of the SportBox. I was assigned a trip, so I will be flying until Tuesday (making this post from UAL Flight Ops in SFO!).
Pricing for the Sportbox looks like it will be $269, but I am still working out the pricing for the RAF. I am trying to make it as reasonable as possible. We are making everything locally.
Stay tuned!
