4th 2007 MCSC delivered in the US?

Well, after a wait of almost 2 months, I picked up my MCSC on thursday. When I was picking it up, my MA told me that my mini was the 4th 2007 cabrio delivered in the US. Could that be true? I know that they had another 2007 cabrio delivered the week before. I did hold off on the 2006 and ordered the first week the 2007s were available. Is there a way to check? Doesn't really matter, just thought it would be nice trivia....

Congrats! I doubt they'd lie. But as you say, in the long run it probably doesn't matter. I might be mistaken, but your car is pretty much identital to a lot of the 2006 cabrios delivered around the end of the year (like mine) which were labeled as 2006 models only because of some weird regulations and the release of the new MINI coupe; in other parts of the worlds, those cabrios were tagged as 2007 models. That's why some US cabrios accidentally got a 2007 VIN from the factory and had to get shipped back to the factory to get a 2006 VIN. The 2007/late 2006 models have some minor changes from the true 2006 models; I think the aux input is now standard from the factory, and some other things I forget.

It is my understanding that the 2007 Cabrio is a rebadged 2006 and that the new body style and turbo motor will be a 2008. True or not?

The 2007 cabrio is not the new-new MINI with the new body like the 2007 coupe. But there are a few minor changes. The cabrio probably won't get the new body until 2009 or maybe 2008.

Last news from my MA was that the new-new 2007s (non-cabrios) are at the distribution centers but not being released until the pre-approved date. May or may not be true but at least it sounds like they are handling this better than Microsoft and Sony with thier game console releases

What is the official designation for the 2007 MCS cabrio? R54? R56? Or something else?

I saw a new 2007 cabrio delivered about 2 weeks ago down here. It had those super cool folding side mirrors.
