Maybe it was all the straight highway on the drive to see my brother in Michigan, but now that I'm back, I'm hungry for some roads that, you know, turn. I've visited the folks at their place up Coal Creek Canyon (CO Hwy. 72), and it's fun, assuming you have no one in front of you (big assumption). But I'm ready to expand my Motoring range and wonder what roads have been tried and everyone's thoughts? Frankly, I think the little green car is getting bored running to market.

One of my favorites is Left Hand Canyon to Ward and back. Left Hand Canyon is located just North of Boulder on HWY 36 (going toward Lyons). Lots of curves and great scenary. Be on the look out for cyclists though since its a great ride on a bike as well.

I-25 north to
Highway 66 west thru Loveland into big thompson canyon take the Glen Haven turn off at the outskirts of Drake follow this thru the town and it leads you to the back side of Estes Park near the Stanley Hotel.
Lots of nice turns and a couple of fun switchbacks after you go thru Glen Haven.

Sorry about that it's been a while. Take Highway 34 not 66 into Loveland.

Lookout Mountain is always fun (it starts in Golden Colorado and goes up to Buffalo Bills Grave).

Deer Creek Canyon Road! Careful though - speed on this road can be dangerous.

Depending on where you live, this can be a 2 hour excursion or less.

Reynold's Park (a few miles off of 285 near Aspen Park - you'll have to MAPit first though, I might be off a bit). Great hiking when you get there. Take the trail to the top and marvel in the unbelievable view.
