Since my wife is Brazilian, she was much more enthusiastic about the Mini when she learned the engine was built in Brazil! I didn't know about Tritec Engines until a noted it during a little internet research.

(Some of the notes about the logo design, automatic transmission and driving a Neon was ironic since the same company builds the Neon engine too. I'm sure the comparisons between the two probably stops at the engine block though!)

I'm not sure if this is the same engine as in the Mini but... I woudl assume it is: see page 3 of the pdf at http://www.sae.org/congress/2001/showtue.pdf where it talks about the development.

To my other question... who amongst the faithful has the highest mileage Mini?

 

Loaded was reporting in at 30K. I know DaveInDenver is way up there, too.

I personally have 11,700 miles under my belt!
