1,250 miles, 5 states, 2 days - tons of snow

This was the first serious road trip for Silver Bean and myself as a team, at least more than 3 hours.

I started in Fort Wayne, IN with a temp of about 24F and steady snow. That was the good part, it was absolutely miserable for a couple of stretches of road. I crossed Ohio, cornered across WV, PA and WV again. And then into Maryland, but I'm getting ahead of myself. I took my normal PA40 shortcut, which is very nice scenic drive and a nice break from I70/I79/I68. By that time, the slight overcast had turned to MAX snow. There were jackknifed trucks in the side of hills, off the road - what a mess! The LSD and DSC were very much appreciated as I trudged thru the snow and slosh.

I didn't see an MC or MCS the entire trip, until I stopped at the restaurant for my meeting in Baltimore. I parked directly behind a CR MCC that was near spotless. I'm certain when they came out and saw my 300 pounds of attached snow/ice/road grime, they thought I was the worst MCS owner in North America.

I finished my meeting Thursday evening, turned around drove another two hours back to Cumberland, MD. The traffic was terrible as the snow was coming down hard, once again.

When I walked to the parking lot Friday morning, I was shocked at the condition of my poor Bean. Worst yet, I couldn't see out of the drivers side window. I stopped to fuel up and had to refill both washer fluids, by the way it works out to about a gallon to fill up both sides. It was 12F and absolutely miserable.

Once I pulled out, I realized I had to do something with the window. I stopped in Wheeling, WV and pressure washed Mr. Bean so I could see out the side. It was 15F and not extremely comfortable, but Mr. Bean is worth the effort. The balance of the drive was sunny and all in all, it was a good two days. It was a great bonding time and we learned a lot about each other. I'm already looking forward to the next one, hopefully to a more sunny and warm locale.

The problem with the trip is that I didn't take any photos, bad lighting, no time, etc. It would have been very helpful to explain the trip.

It had its moments, but I did enjoy being behind the wheel for 1,250 miles.
The MCS is a fun car to drive locally, but it's also great on the road.
