I saw one thread on whether CD R/W (re-writeables) work in the stock changer, but nothing about their working in the stock headunit...the AM/FM/CD unit. Well, they do! I just discovered this last week, and if you're like me, you may have a whole lot of MP3s, etc. on your hard-drive which you periodically burn to CD (I don't have a portable MP3 player). So, now I can burn a re-writable disc whenever I want and play it in the MINI.

I'm sure some would say, just use regular writable CDs and toss 'em when you sick of 'em, but I hate wasting that plastic (even if it's pathetically cheap).

I don't know if re-writables work but I have a lot of CD-R's that I made and they work fine in the standard AM/FM/CD player.
