Rubber Guide Bushing Replacements

Rubber guide bushing replacements
Anyone use these from Detroit Tuned? I was thinking of using their G2 paint system for the calipers and want to remove them to make them perfect instead of painting in place. While I'm at it I wondered if this would be valuable.

This kit will eliminate caliper twisting caused by rubber guide pin bushings. This kit, consisting of precision guide pins and machined brass guide bushings will allow your calipers to squeeze evenly on both sides of the brake rotor, just like expensive multi-piston big brake kits. This will result in much longer pad life and more consistent brake system feel. A must have item for anyone! Sold in sets of 4. You will need to order 2 sets to do a whole car, or 1 set to do just the rears on a BBK car.

I searched and found a TON of good information. I have one last question though. I have a BMW 525i and my wife's Mini has the exact same type of calipers. My question...do the metal pins need to be lubed...when using with the rubber bushings? I replaced my pads and I didn't lube those. The Bentley manual didn't say a word about it.

BMW/MINI stock caliper guide pins should NOT be lubed when used with the stock rubber caliper guide bushings. Guide pins should only be lubed when used with the solid brass bushings.
