Looking for a VERY inexpensive indoor cover

Hi All -

I am looking for a very inexpensive INDOOR dust cover for my Mini Convertible. The OEM ones are nice, but I really struggle with spending that much on a cover.

Any suggestions?

TIA,

Mark

put your bed sheets on it? seriously, if it's indoors, just leave it
open. i don't cover my cars while hibernation to keep the car breathing.

My problem is that I have a wood shop right off the garage where the Mini is parked. No matter how much I keep the doors closed or run the dust collector, I can't keep the dust out.

How cheap is cheap??? Maybe a large painters drop cloth (plastic sheet or cloth)???? Anytime you put anything on your MINI, the paint needs to be cleaned otherwise the dirt on it will scratch your paint as you cover it.

Ok, I'm not Ebenezer Scrooge.. I would like to have something that fits so it woun't be hanging so it can get caught on something. Something that is light and breaths and is around $50 to $100. I just struggle with spending $250 or more for a cover.

Go to Home Depot and get some Tyvek. It can be cut and fitted to do what you want.

Well this is what I bought---excellent outdoor/indoor cover.

Was around $110. I bought it from Seven Enterprises, but it seems they no longer stock it--you can try calling them--they are a NAM vendor. I think MINIMania sells it too---not sure if it's the same one. Looks like it is.

Coverbond is the material.

ahhhh, gotcha. I think any soft cotton based draperies will do, unless
you want to get a true 'car cover.' That $120 car cover octaneguy
shows looks like a bargan to me.

Car cover

I use the Duravent car over sold by Mossmini.com. Custom fit and 4 year warranty for only $70.00.

Just make very sure that you don't trap sawdust or dirt between the car and the cover with repeated R&Ring of the cover. It would seem like the top of the cover would get rather dirty pretty quickly, and it would be rather difficult to remove the cover for storage without transferring some of that dust/dirt to the bottom side of the cover.

At the time I had researched it over at Seven Enterprises, I thought the one Moss was selling wasn't the same one, though it was based on the same material. I could be mistaken though.

Same material

I think the fabric is the same for both the Seven and Moss versions. I'm on my second cover now. The first lasted 3 + years, it would have lasted longer but it ripped when I grabbed it too hard. I use it almost everyday, 4 years in the sun is about as long as a cover will last.
