We have certainly had an interesting 2006. To be honest, it has been a bit overwhelming for us here! We have seen the end of the Pulley Party, the end of an era with the R53 MINI (the current '06 model that was ushered in to the states in 2002), the start of many of our own product line items, and new developments from some of our manufacturers, such as Unichip with the new Q version with Bluetooth capability for self tuning. We also spent quite a bit of the year on the road racing circuit around the country with the Phil Wicks series fine tuning some of our own products while providing feedback to our sponsors. Craig Wilcox ended up with an SCCA National Championship on the autocross front.

WMS Extreme Rear Swaybar
We now have 50 WMS Extreme Rear Swaybars ready to ship. These units are unique in the market - the only torsion bar style swaybar on the market. This is the same technology used at Porsche Motorsport, with fine splined billet aluminum swaybar endlink arms that are adjustable from 10% softer than stock to 348% stiffer than stock. These arms mount to a tubular 4130 chromoly bar that allows us to produce the lightest unit on the market. Webb Motorsports attaches all of this ultra-trick technology to your MINI with billet aluminum bearing blocks that use technology found nowhere else in the MINI aftermarket, deleting the need for lubrication for the lifetime of the unit. We didn't stop there though. We also include billet aluminum, Teflon lined heim-jointed adjustable drop-links that allow total control of your setup, including right to left asymmetric modes and preload adjustment. The beauty of this item is that it can be bolted up and left alone forever, or tweaked in the paddock at every brake cool down. It is equally at home on the track as it is on the street.

Our industry leading Webb Motorsports Performance Cylinder Head and Cam has been a hot item, with several facility installs here at the Littleton shop in the last month. This unit uses a specially designed camshaft and larger valves with our bench, street and track proven porting technology to give the broadest torque curve available, and an incredible 20+ horsepower gain (depending on other mods). All of this at the best price in the market. We can also build a head to your specific application.

We also offer our best of the best pulleys for both the supercharger and crankshaft. These have been fine tuned to give the best performance with the highest reliability.

Our new items, which are available for Christmas preorder, are the WMS SportBox cold air intake and the WMS Extreme cat-back exhaust. If you would like to get on the list for the airbox, which should be ready by Christmas shipping deadlines, simply email or call us. The exhaust, which will be ready for shipping in the first quarter of '07, will have the same preorder capability. This will assure your receipt of a sure record setting sales piece for Webb Motorsports. The initial production run of the SportBox will be for 40 units.


The SportBox is a unit that incorporates a modular approach, with an available RAF unit that provides the first true cold air intake for the MINI Cooper S. It is stainless steel, has the largest volume possible, and uses a specially designed filter element to optimize flow and filtration. There are several break-through design elements on the new SportBox RAF.

As we get closer to releasing the Extreme cat-back, we will be disclosing more information about it.

2006 also saw a ton of rumors sprout up about my beloved company. We are not closing the doors, I am still alive, I did go back to flying commercially for United Airlines as a 737 pilot, and I am not going to be tuning Hummers (that was my favorite rumor). Some of the changes we have made - email is much more important to us, being a primary means of both internal and customer communication. I have also made the shop available by appointment only - including holidays and weekends. I am currently working on podcasts through WMS and White Roof Radio as well as live chat through the WMS site.

One last bit of news - Webb Motorsports is committed to the MINI and Lotus community. We are one of the few businesses that offers products we have developed for sale, as well as support for those products, and a full service installation facility. We continue to develop new and exciting products using our experience with road course racing, autocrossing, and street experience with daily drivers. To that end, we are receiving one of the first 2007 R56 MINIs to continue our design and production ideas. To fund some of our new ideas, I am regrettably selling the beloved Mule (really, this time I mean it). It is going for a very reasonable price, and has to be one of the most historic, not to mention fastest, MINI racers in the world. Email or call for details.

I take every customer very seriously, and spend quite a bit of time with each to make sure the right answers are being given. I have decided that will remain my highest priority and realize promptness suffers because of it.
