XM direct in 2006 MINI

Hello, I just purchased a new 2006 MINI Cooper S and I am an existing XM subscriber already, I purchased the XM Direct box to allow for me to have XM on the MINI Radio, and an alpine adaptor and went for my installation, and they looked at me as though I had 3 heads and wanted to completely tear out my radio and make some cuts and so forth, so to my frustration, I stopped them and gathered all my equipment and left. What do I need to get XM on my MINI radio---I was told that I could connect from the rear right area in the boot to an existing cable, which is where the 6 CD changer would plug into. Where do I get this special piece to plug the XM direct into those small square connections? Anyone Please help, frustrated with a new mini!!!!!

I installed XM Direct in my 2004 MCS. I have H/K, and so space is tight back there; easiest if you remove the right tail-light assembly.

But any dealer that doesn't know how to do this is a dealer to be avoided.

You need a Blitzsafe adapter cable. One end plugs into your XM Direct receiver and the other connects to the CD changer bus. They provide very good instructions for this installation.

You'll put the XM receiver behind the right side boot panel where the CD changer bus is stored. Look at your XM Direct box to determine its manufacturer then look at the table HERE to determine which Blitzsafe cable to buy.

DO NOT GO BACK TO THE AUDIO SHOP YOU VISITED!!!

Hope this helps,

Theo

Have an '06 with standard head unit. Bought Blitzsafe adapter (which is what you are probably missing) and XM direct from Circuit City and had it installed in 20 min, (Or 1 beer).
Lots of help on Audio forum to assist with pictures.
