Does anyone know if the convenience package for the 2007 cabrio is going to include bluetooth? I had seen that the new hardtop might have it. Just wondering if I should wait and order a 2007 or get one of the last of the 2006 cabrios.

 

If i was a betting man.. Id say No.

They can incorporate the wiring in the 07s since its a new build. But not as easy for the 06's

 

Let's be more specific, since the convertible is NOT changing designs until at least next year.

The model designations are thus:

R50 - 2002-2006 MINI Cooper hardtop
R52 - 2005-2006 All current MINI convertibles (MC & MCS)
R53 - 2002-2006 MINI Cooper S hardtop
R55 - future larger "Clubman" model (2008?)
R56 - 2007+ MINI Cooper and MINI Cooper S (hardtop)

Now, although the R56 is replacing both the R50 and R53, the R52 is going to continue to be available for 2007, so the same options and accessories will apply as they have been for 2005 & 2006. It's not going to be updated with the new R56-like designs for a little while. I would even go so far as to guess for the 2009 model year, but maybe it will be 2008.

It's confusing to simply say "the 07s" without making the hardtop/convertible distinction, because at first, only the hardtops will be "new".
