R50/53 Will 15" wheels fit JCW CP car ?
In a word yes. As long as the Cooper S doesn't have a big brake kit installed on it.
Mz3bo,
I did quite a bit of research into my winter wheels. I decided to "down size" the rims to 16" for better "pothole protection" and "minus size" the tires (i.e., one size narrower) for better traction. Those are good practices with winter wheels/tires.
Only 2 MINI 16" rims work over JCW big brakes (checkout the JCW Sport Brakes instructions on MotoringFile [ http://motoringfile.com/2006/06/09/m...ort-brake-kit/ ] for information). Neither one was what I was looking for.
I looked up many "make your own" winter wheel packages on the Tire Rack (i.e., a North American Motoring sponsor). I ordered a set of Pirelli Winter 210 Sottozero (Run Flats) mounted on O.Z. Michelangelo 8s. Price was well under my budget.
Plus they fit perfectly and lood great (almost better than my Silver R99s). Now all I have to is wait for snow, which will not be long around Oswego, NY (Buffalo's 22" did not come our way).

Depends on what you mean by 15" winter rims. There are a few 15" aftermarket rims that can fit over JCW brakes. Alex at TireRack has posted about it. As I recall, they include OZ Ultraleggera, Kosei K1-TS, and a couple of others. Call Alex for details.
