digital speedo faster than Large analog one?

I noticed that on our latest loaner car, the digital speedo above the steering wheel clocked faster than the analog one on the center of the console.

Is this common? Which is more accurate?

My guess is that the analogue gauge is harder to calibrate exactly. It is also harder to read. My analogue speedometer consistently reads 2-3 MPH faster than the radar readouts you see in construction zones.

I thought they were all digital. I dont remember seeing a speedo cable on the center speedo.
