Congrats to Alain and his crew from Octane Racing!!!!!!!!!!
Went to the Indian Summer Trophy Races at Mosport Canada yesterday courtesy of Alain from Octane Racing ( J Propane on Nam). After a morning of the car going into limp mod and taking pieces of other cars,the crew got the little orange beast running again. Alain placed 3rd in this double points 3 hour enduro in his class which secured his championship. I would like to thank Alain, his team and sponsors for a great day and making me feel a part of his team. These guys and ladies deserve our congrats on their accomplishment this year.
I don't want to spoil Alain's day with this post. I know he plans to post video when he gets back home to Montreal. He will be running again at Mosport at the end of this month and would like the MINI crowd around for support.

We indeed clinched the championship over the week-end. Just got back home. More to come later.

I guess a pretty good week-end for MINI in Motorsport since journalist Jim Kenzie took the Unlimited class win (2 years in a row) at Targa Newfoundland, with his JCW MINI Cooper S!

With one race left to complete in the 2006 Championship, the Octane Motorsport team John Cooper Works prepared MINI Cooper S wrapped-up a very successful season by gathering enough points to obtain the Championship title.

Our driving duo managed a 3rd place in the 3-Hour “War Bonnet” enduro that was run on September 16 at Mosport International Raceway. “It was a fun race. Our job was very simple: to keep everything clean so we can finish, since the points for this race were double-value.”

“The refuelling went well at mid-race, but our overflow hose leaked some fuel.” The officials brought us back in, a few laps later, for a stop and go penalty, which cost us second place and would have put us back within reach of the first place.” At the end, we can say we are extremely satisfied, as 3rd place was enough to bring the championship home. I would like to thank every member of the team. Their dedication and hard work is what brings these consistent results.”

The next championship race will be at Mosport on September 30-October 1 for the season finale: Celebration of Motorsport. In the meantime, the Octane Motorsport MINI will make a guest appearance for the last 2 races of the year in the Hankook Quebec Touring car championship at the historic Mont-Tremblant track on September 22-24.
