Has any body experienced any problems with the engine when idling? This morning (it was a cold start though not bitterly) my Coop failed to start first time, I had to click it over about three times before it started and even then it was low on power. I got the end of the road (about 100 yrds) and when I put it back into first gear it lost all revs and then died. It wouldn't restart unless I had my foot on the gas. For the rest of the journey I had very low power when changing up gears. When I was stationary I had to keep reving the engine heavily to avoid it cutting out.
My coop is only three weeks old.

I've got my car back, there was a fault with the throttle housing unit. It wasn't interpretating the revs correctly, when cruising at high revs it would reduce power to the engine. I did ask the dealer if it could of had the reverse effect give too much power when cruising at low revs, he didn't give me a definitive answer but i'm sure the answer if he was truthful would be yes. He said it was a one off incident.
My car had a lovely clean (inside and out).

I'm happy to report that while for a few days it seemed I had a simmilar problem with my S, it seems to have cured itself!

Mine nearly stalls (it has) when at idle/stop with the air conditioning on. This is not normal and is not because the engine is tiny like I thought originally! Supposedly there is a software fix coming out in September to fix the emissions regulator being too strict and cutting down on power way too much. It's only noticable when it's hot with the a/c on in most cases. I'm still waiting to hear back from MINI on this. I'll let you know if it really is a software fix.
