Well, yes, the BBS is down. While tweaking it to make it run faster, something happened. I'll let you know what it was once I fix it. I hope to have it back up and running by this afternoon. Keep your fingers crossed.

 

I placed 2 new locations on the FRAPPR MAP in case folks need the meetup points for Friday and Saturday. Zoom in on the AUburn area for the Burger King location and on the South Lake Tahoe area for the Best Tahoe West Inn.

okay, so this is what happened...

over the last few days, our REME MegaBBS began to slow way down... really slow. I reloaded the FrontPage Extensions onto the server and everything on the BBS returned to normal speed.

When doing that, it messed up a lot of links on our Webpages which forced me to re-publish every page. After fixing the web pages, the BBS was completely taken off line. This all happened because a database file on the host became write protected.

I notified the company who hosts our BBS & website. They should change the file's permisson to allow write access shortly. My guess is by 3pm.

If anyone is anxious, it will not hurt anything to try to gain access at any time before that.

 

well this is really getting old fast.... the host still has not responded to my emails or phone calls. This would take someone in their office all of about 2 minute to fix....
