Watkins Glen Driving Advice

My brother in law races a '65 Vette in SCCA. It is a vintage car racing outfit. In early Sept he will be racing at Watkins Glen. My son and I are going as pit crew members. While there they offer the opportunity to take your car out on the track. I want to take out my MC with the sport mode shifting.

Has anyone driven at the Glen that would be willing to offer some advice? What to watch out for, how fast to go, run higher octane? Just curious, am looking forward to it.

Thanks in advance.

You may want to inquire in the competition forum section: https://www.northamericanmotoring.co...splay.php?f=11

Will there be a driving instructor in the car with you?

no instructor, just a pace car I believe. Thats how it was at VIR. Just leave some space ahead of you at times so you can let her scream down the straight away. Thanks for the link.
