R50/53 Advice for tear in leatherette seat
Advice for tear in leatherette seat
I just noticed a 5 inch slit in the driver's seat. I bought my car used and I don't think I did this, must have been there from the previous owner and I didn't notice it. Can I repair it and if so how? You would never notice it which is why I didn't until now but I don't want it to tear any further, am hoping I can seal it with something. Also I have a small spot on the rear seat, any ideas for this? Any help is appreciated!! Other than that the car is in perfect condition and looks like new!
Weren't there infomercials about some powdered stuff that you shake onto tears in leather/ette and -- voila! -- fixed like new!?
Sorry - I have absoutely nothing constructive or useful to add, other than perhaps call around to upholstery places for recommendations...? Good luck in the fixing!

I think I'll try google. The slit is not 5 inches, looked at it tonight, it's about 2 inches. If I can't repair it, no big deal, I am the only one that will ever notice it. I am still madly in love with this car, so what if she has a flaw...don't we all?!
Any luxary car dealer or higher class used car dealer has a certain person that fixes all of such tears in dashes or in upholestery. IT is really fascinating to watch them. THe best can do it so well, you would hardly know anything was changed. my friends dad does that as a business, he's amazing at masking things and making the bond permanent and smooth.
