Hard to find a stock MCS with LSD option

Okay, so my wife won't let me get a new MINI so I can add the LSD option for $500, so I'm in the hunt for a used one. However, it is near impossible to find a Used MINI with LSD as an option. Is this because people just didn't find it necessary, or are they just not labeling this as one of the features when you read through the adds? Can some give some insight to why you can't seem to find a USED MCS with LSD?

I think it's because the majority of people who selected this option, knew what an LSD does, and that probably meant they were more "enthusiasts" than the average buyer.

And we all know that enthusiasts don't let go of their cars so easily.

Keep in mind that the factory LSD has ONLY been available since the 01/05 builds (i.e. 2005 1/2), so it's only really been the last 20 months of manufacturing.

Perhaps you should point out to your wife that due to the MINI's unusually high resale value (relative to other cars), that it makes more economic sense to buy a NEW mini than it does for most other brands. Plus you get to maximize the warranty coverage!

What is your price-range?

I am slightly considering selling my MCS and I have the LSD. We are expecting our first child in March, '07 and I really think I need more buffer behind the back seat in my main driver. If I do sell, I'd be looking to get $25,000. I purchased it from Classic in Feb., '05 and we could get them to help ship or you could come get it and drive just like I did when I bought it! It was an early Jan., '05 build. Currently 17500 miles, only hand-washed, oil changes....all dealer done but at 1000 miles and every 6k or so miles after that (of course synthetic). No rattles, just one plastic rubbing sound now and then. No problems that didn't just go away...i.e. the gas gauge stopped working once but worked again after a couple of starts and has been fine. No dings....a few slight rock chips on the front. See my sig. for packages and pix in gallery.

I am considering, but you might sway me if you are interested.

Best,

Andro

You know I finally gave up. I tried HARD to find a used one with LSD. Found two but could not finallize the deal... Found my 05MCSC, original owner thought he had LSD, didn't but I saved so much money, I could not in good conscience back out, but I still wish I had it...

I haven't really decided on a price just yet. I think when I priced out a new one on the website, it was at $24800 or so. That included the options that I wanted, as well as the LSD. I really need to sell my truck first, unless you know someone that wants to trade a Land Rover for a MINI Cooper S.

You might try going to Carmax for a quote on your Landie. There are 2 in Columbus.

Buddy, if you work hard for your money, I think you should go treat yourself and buy a new one, just like you want it. I don't think the price diffrence will be that great between new vs used....

Wife won't let me....I don't think so.....
