I've been thinking about doing the 15% pulley upgrade. I read somewhere on this forum that Lucky Dog Garage in MD can install a 15% MINI Madness pulley (part included) for $250. Does this include tweaking the ECU software?

Is it necessary to tweak the software if you change out the pulley? Enquiring minds want to know!

 

necessary it is not. However, I have GIAC and it is great. Well was great untill the dealer reflashed, I hope to get it reflashed shortly.

 

what are the advantages of getting the ecu flashed in conjunction with the pulley upgrade?

 

For me, it just smoothed things out. Now that its gone its back to being jerky. Not all bad, but GIAC feels much more refined

 

Ditto here. I got MTH Tuner File and it just smooths out the power delivery. Engine runs smoother. Launches are smoother. Acceleration .... you get the pick. Which one is better? Depends on who you talk to. I've learned that none of them are the solution for everyone all the time. I've heard good and bad about all.

 

NO it's not necessary, but a ECU upgrade will compliment your new pulley well! Tschus -- Johan
