Recommended track set-up?

I have an '02 MCS (with a 15% pulley, Alta intake and rear sway bar, Milltek Sport exhaust, short shifter, brake ducts, stainless steel lines, etc.). I haven't tracked the car in 2 years and have been "out of the loop" re: all things Mini during this period. I'm anticipating getting the car back on track, and would like to get some recommendations from those of you who know what's available nowadays for the car.

So are there now ecu re-maps that actually do something? My pulley was one of the first ones available, and I remember they were coming out with 18% and maybe even bigger ones. Should I just keep the pulley I've got? Are there any other driveline mods that are now generally accepted as worth doing? Thanks in advance.

Not much has changed with pulleys...

But ECU remaps have probably gotten better, they should smooth out your power and maybe give you an extra pony or two.

15% is still the pulley recommended by some pro-tuners for "safer" tracking and high engine RPMs because it keeps the blower within it's designed RPM limit and within a theoretical compression heat efficiency level.

But to be fair, the 17% and 19% pulleys are used commonly on the track too, and their owners typically speak highly of them.

Injector size and belt failures may or may not be an issue with any pulley, depending on who you ask. Read around here, you'll see the discussions.

There are some pretty dramatic IC and intake related add-ons available now that probably weren't available at least in their current form 2 years ago, some threads are active here about them now...

From the more complex, there's the DFIC, the AGS, replacement ICs, water cooling sprayers, more agressive venting, ceramic headers, moving to the next size up supercharger, etc. To the very simple, you might try insulating your Alta CAI metal airbox.

It's all here on NAM, this is a really great source...

Best,

-- Don
