Yellow Koni Sport Shocks - Need Advice

I finally bought a set of Koni single valve "Sports", but am baffled by the setting options. I did thread searches on the topic, but they usually dealt with modified suspensions. My car is a dedicated "GS" Solo car. I am running Kumo V710's with the stock "S" front & rear sway bar & springs. I know these units will have to be dialed in, but any suggestions where to start with the settings for track before I install them would be appreciated, especially if someone out there is running them with stock springs etc.. I run both asphalt and cement courses.

I set my rears at 1/4 turn from full stiff. You will need a 15/32 drill bit to enlarge the shock shaft hole in the rear spring perches. Front I'm running a 1/2 turn from full soft. Other people are running the fronts mid way but they are easier to adjust. It's more of a personal preference.

Thanks for sharing that. Are you running stock springs, sway-bar, etc?

Ah yes, the smaller front sway bar. I think I have run out of money and time for that item this season. Having a non-LSD, inside front wheel traction is a issue, and then there is the fight to keep the front end under control. Hopefully the Koni's will help. I hear that changing the front bar is no picnic. I'd like to hear your opinion on that too. Are you getting good results from your smaller (16 or 22mm) front bar? ....I'm a shameless information hog. lol

The change out time on jack stands is around 4-5 hours taking your time. I've got a mechanical background so it was no real big deal. The only real tricky thing to watch out for is the steering column to steering rack joint. After you remove the retaining bolt the joint will "rotate" upward off the the rack. Do this before you lower the sub frame.

The smaller bar has its trade offs which have been discussed here.

I'm not running a 16 or 22...lets just leave it at that .

Your 2002 came with some decent springs in it so you might be able to get away with the 16mm bar. In 05 and 06 it feels like they went with softer springs.
