Used VIN and called ASK-MINI..
Good day all!
Ordered MINI (MCS DS/W) on 7/6/06, finally got my VIN number this afternoon. Logged into Owner's Lounge - it said "scheduled for production". Thought I'd give 866-ASK-MINI a shot - it said "in the paint shop, scheduled for completion on 7/19/2006."
ASK-MINI is supposed to be the more accurate? Correct?
For those with experience, if our MINI actually completes production today... what is next? Does it sit at the factory for awhile or does it start it's journey to a port?
Since I live in NJ (Morristown MINI), I assume the boat just shoots straight across the Atlantic?
How exciting!!!

Ask MINI was great, until my Mini got to Southampton. Because mine is headed to the West Coast, it becomes very difficult to track after that. My MA was able to tell me what ship it is on, but that ship never seems appears on ship tracking sites.
That's a great thing about the support group threads, between the lot of us, we all manage to figure out what's going on.

Your MINI won't sit at the plant. It'll be dispatched to the port post haste. How long it sits at the port depends on when a ship arrives to pick up a load for the states. It won't be long now.
