4th of July Picnic with MOTR - Minis of the Rockies
Our kind friends and relatives at MOTR Minis of the Rockies (www.minisrock.com) have extended all of us an invite to join their annual 4th of July Independence Day picnic and party. This from Kenn Lively, President of MOTR:
Hello MOTRheads:
The annual MOTR 4th of July barbecue and funfest is on for Tuesday, July 4, 2006 at **** Shearers house:
**** & Lesley Shearer (around the corner from Ralph Schomp MINI)
11 Sunset Lane
Greenwood Village, CO 80121
303-789-1658 (H)
MINI5280 members...please CALL **** (you know him from Schomp) and RSVP...see what they need us to bring. That would be the kind thing to do....perhaps a small gift for the hosts...
If you don't know where it is, Google the address, or give **** a call and he'll give good direction. (from Ralph Schomp MINI go EAST on Littleton, then North on Washington to Sunset. Just sort of past the High School fields)
This year we are doing something a little different than in years past, we are not asking anyone to bring a specific item based on the first letter of the last name. Instead, MOTR is asking that everyone bring their favorite 4th of July side dish--MOTR will furnish BBQ chicken, beer, wine, and soft drinks. I'm bringing potato salad (I think), 'cause that's my favorite, so bring what you want to eat!
The party starts early (5:30 PM) because it's a holiday and most people will not be working, and we want to try and get as many pictures of Minis parked around ****'s house as we can while there is still light. Also try and figure out where there might be a good place to watch fireworks--close to ****'s house--so we can ooh and aah with everyone else.
A special note to Jonathan: forward this e-mail to whoever you want.
Also, our MOTR members in Kansas, Ararad and Kimberly Hovsepian cannot make it for the BBQ because they have to work on Wednesday, and there is not enough time after the BBQ to drive back home and get to work on time. They will, however, be in and around Colorado Springs for the weekend, looking at property for their move to Colorado (hopefully), and are contemplating bringing one of their Minis for a ride on Sunday or Monday. Anyone interested (besides me)? On Sunday the ride would be around Colorado Springs, and a ride on Monday would be around Denver. If you are interested, reply to this e-mail and let me know your preferences. I will be calling Ararad to let him know in the next day or two, so get your preferences known.
I might also mention that a new MOTR News will be coming out the first part of July, so if you have anything you would like included, let me know. Parts for sale, cars for sale, events for listing, that sort of thing. I'll have an article about Mini Meet West in Prescott, Arizona, and a few other goodies.
