MINI trip to USGP! June 25th
As many by now may know the Grand Prix is coming to America, at the Indianapolis motor speedway. But more exciting is the brigestone preview party, where Fans will get a taste of the excitement surrounding Formula One’s return to the Indianapolis Motor Speedway on Sunday, June 25.
The preview party is free and includes a chance to drive around a portion of the usgp circuit.
If anyone is interested A group will be meeting in the parking lot behind Newport of the Levee off of riverboat row @ 8:30am, we will leave for Indy at aprox 9:30am, getting to the track to join the party and participate in the track drive. Following the party we will leave to speedway and head for downtown, where we can all enjoy a meal at Buca di Beppo
located on Illinois St. At 6:00pm. then all head home.

I am not familiar with any levee's in Indianapolis.
Is it in Lafayette? I remember (vaguely and not sober) a levee there.

- Viewing of the live broadcast of the Canadian Grand Prix on the Speedway’s large-screen video displays from 1-3 p.m.
- Public drive-around on portions of the IMS road course
- Formula One simulators and Bridgestone displays
- Race car displays
- Live music by Living Proof from noon-1 p.m. and 3-4 p.m.
- Free face painting, free fan photos and USGP Grid Girls photo opportunities
Key attractions for the USGP Preview Party presented by Bridgestone will be located in the Speedway’s Pagoda Plaza, located behind the Bombardier Pagoda. Fans also should visit the IMS Hall of Fame Museum, open during its normal Sunday hours of 9 a.m.-5 p.m. with its normal admission price of $3 for adults, $1 for ages 6-15 and free for children under age 6.
The public drive-around will take place from 11 a.m.-1 p.m. Participating fans should enter their vehicles through Gate 10, off 30th Street. Fans can drive one lap on the famed IMS oval in a clockwise direction, just as Formula One stars do for a portion of the USGP road course.
Fans also can purchase tickets for the United States Grand Prix at the Preview Party. Representatives from the IMS ticket office will be in the Pagoda Plaza to help fans choose seats.

Butler U? Kind of tough place to get to from the Southside, then to have to go back to the track.
If you are coming up 65 from KY, then I would guess you would want to go west on 465 to get to the track. There are lots of places along 465 to meet. The Flying J at exit 4 might be a good place to pull off.
