Pulled the trigger - PW/B MC Checkmate!

Finally got my order in, Very excited!

PW/B MC Checkmate, CW, MFSW, Sunroof, Nav, Chrome Interior.

Today is apparently the last day to order the Checkmate package or very soon. Huge fan of the interior but it's likely I'll pull all the exterior checkmate accents and have the roof painted PW.

Initial mods already planned are K&N Intake and new Exhaust. All my mods will be geared towards best fuel efficiency so any fuel/weight reduction tips are welcome... yes I know the Sunroof is heavy but the wife insisted.

Thanks to those who deal with my months of mulling. 3 months wait now to get it.

Though it's a MCS, here's a thread with a good example of the interior.

Congrats on your order. That black roof will hide the sunroof quite well. IMHO if you are going to have a sunroof, you need a black roof. Otherwise they stand out like a sore thumb.

There is no shame in getting a MC. Afterall they all are MINI's! Chrome REALLY sets off the dash! Did you get the U stripe on the bonnet?

As for mileage, I don't think that an intake will help you with MPG. It will create more noise and that causes me to STOMP on MIB's throttle even more! Actually the best advice I can give you for MPG, is to get the holies (they are the lightest factory rims) and keep the tires inflated between 32-36 PSI. You may also want to switch to non runflats, they are lighter. Another trick is to shift at 3K rpmor 3,500 rpm max. DO NOT use full throttle and do your absolute best to stay under 4K rpm. Another trick is to keep the windows up and the AC off. You might save some weight by removing the rear seats.

Most of all I would suggest you wave to EVERY MINI you see, ENJOY your new friend, and Join a local MINI club!

Do you have any ideas for a name or are you going to let your MINI tell you its name.

Crusoe, Congrats!

I'm with you on checkmate exterior accents. I love the interior, but would pass on the decals.

I've seen some all PW's with sunroofs, it doesn't bother me. Perhaps I'll go to Space Blue roof and Mirrors.

MC is perfect for us, 90% will be for commuting, evenings and weekends it's mine! No U stripes on the PWs available. Stripes are coming off anyway.

Ha, didn't think of that. The intake shouldn't hurt my mileage either but a heavier foot definitely will. I attempted to buy 2 different '03 MINIs from folks back east both with holies. I'll keep the 16"ers but will be switching to radials soon too, the bridge spokes are'nt too bad. I drive exactly how you describe. Lastly I'm in Seattle, we usually only need AC for about a week, Sunroof will be open a lot though.

Can I ask why you got a checkmate? It just sounds like you're going to remove everything that made it a checkmate in the first place.

Interior - namely the cloth leather seats. Additionally was going to add DSC, Fogs, Sport Seats anyway. All the checkmate badging is free. Roof in black will be there a while.
DSC $500
C/Ltr Seats $800
Fogs $150
16" Wheels $600
Sports Seats $300
$2350
