Hi Ya folks! It's time to start your planning for the return of Mickey and MINI!!
WHAT:
Once again Sunshine MINIs will invade Walt Disney World Resort. If you attended last year you know we had a good time and this year looks to be even better!
WHERE and WHEN:
Mickey and MINI 2006 will start on Friday October 13th and wrap up on Sunday October 15th. I have arranged for accommodations at Disney's Coronado Springs Resort. The rate is $129 per night per room. Just call 1 (407) 939-1020 and mention Sunshine MINIs for the discount. Once you make your reservation please let me know in the 'Check In' thread. Currently we have 25 rooms at this rate and I think they will go fast. I'll hold off for one week before I post this info on NAM to give our members a jump start. This is a great resort with a spectacular food court, a sit down restaurant, cool pool and a couple of bars. Here's Disney's description of the resort:
Follow in the footsteps of the legendary explorer, Don Francisco de Coronado, and discover a gem of a Resort that combines the beauty, fantasy and unique cultural elements of colonial Spain, Mexico and New Mexico. From the colorful spring-fed Fountain of the Doves to the hidden treasures of the Mayan-ruin themed Dig Site pool, escape to a tranquil lakeside vacation destination unlike any other.
When you arrive at the resort we will have a check in desk/room, complete with some refreshments. Check in at the table (not the resort) will be from 6pm to 8pm Friday. I hope to have some welcome bags/kits for you and since we have the room for a couple of hours you can hang out and meet other people that have come for the event.
On Saturday October 14th I hope to offer a group discount on a behind the scenes tour, more information to come on this.
Also on Saturday, James our very own adMINIstrator will be hosting "Drinking around the world 2" at EPCOT. This event will start in the late afternoon and continue until park closing time of 9pm. Be aware that the EPCOT International Food and Wine Festival will be going on that evening, so even if you do not drink, there will be great food to taste and great folks to hang out with.
So far that is all that has been planned. I do have some tshirts in the works but we have to go through the Disney approval process before we can offer them. Once we get a final design approved by Disney I'll roll out the order information for them.

Just want to give you a heads up that you have less than a month to make your reservations at Disney. As of September 11th any rooms in our block that have not been reserved get dumped back into the normal room population. As of today there are 12 rooms left. Stop waiting around and make your reservation.
