R50/53 Looking for help - broken passenger seat (pics)
Looking for help - broken passenger seat (pics)
The other day I noticed my passenger seat wouldn't tilt forward to allow rear entry (get out of the gutter!!). Turns out the lever seems to be broken, or got knocked out of whack or something. I figured I'd ask if anyone has ideas for a fix before I start tearing things apart - I don't have a good track record of just trying to fix things on a whim with no idea of what I'm doing...
Here's a shot looking down. The white lettering should be readable, but it just spins around.

Like I said, I haven't looked at it too hard to tell where to take the seat apart to get inside to see what's wrong. I'm suspecting the back of the seat will come off to allow more access? Or maybe from underneath? How easy it is to take the seat out?
Any thoughts or ideas would be appreciated.

It may be just the ****. Try changing that first. Pry off the cover with the pictures of the seat and there's a Torx screw underneath.
If you decide to remove the seat, disconnect the battery and wait for about 30 minutes before you remove the seat. You'll set an error code in the airbag system if you're not careful. If you do that, it'll need to go to the dealer to turn off the airbag light.
