R50/53 Boot trick
Boot trick
Most of you guys have probably figured this out by now. But anywho...
I've always carried a air compressor in the trunk of my car. But ever since I got my MINI I've been trying to figure out how to secure it in the boot. I could always get the cargo net but I'm not too thrilled with the compressor just sitting in the middle of the boot. So, I've been trying to find a smaller one that would fit inside the storage area on the side. But then I came across a article on canadiandriver.com
Here's the article: http://www.canadiandriver.com/articles/jm/06mini.htm
So simple. Just flip the jack pouch.
Fits perfectly and it won't roll around while the car is moving. I think I'll put a small towel or work glove between the compressor and the plastic trim so they won't bang into each other.

My MCS is quite comfy and creative use of a bungee in the boot has put an end to the "Cargo Slide". I have done many things that may "make me go blind" but I looked twice and didn't see any reference to compressors, boots, or the tool pouch, in the linked article (do not hesitate to accuse me of blatant blindness).

Compressor options..
For what its worth... I had that same trouble when I got rid of the run flats... Which compressor & how to store it? But I found a compressor that actually fits inside the storage space BEHIND the access panel on the drivers side (in the boot)..
This link is something close..

I found my CH compressor at Walmart.. I have even used it on a few tires already (not mine).. I was just helping others out with a flat...
Enjoy..

Or build a simple false floor in the boot, then you have storage that you can secure and keep hidden. Thats where I keep mine and my jumpercables, etc. I upholstered mine in blue suede and diamond plate just for fun too.

Here is a pic. I just threw it together with what I already had and $15 worth of closeout suede. It needs a tiny bit of work but worked out nice for my first attempt and next to no cost.

And pay no attention to the cowskull. I got to be me.

not sure if anyone else has seen this, but it's certainly a great option for us... hell, they named the compressor specifically for us

I was in Kragen's (big car parts chain) a while back. They had a rebate deal on Slime's "Spair" kit - I think I paid $14.99 after rebate. Compressor, Slime sealant, and a stick-type tire pressure gauge. The compressor and can of Slime fit in the left side boot compartment. I threw the pressure gauge in the glovebox.
I just went to Slime's web site, and the product they show is a little different from the one I bought. Maybe that's why they were on sale - they're unloading the old product?
