New to the NW Burbs....Hello! :-)

I'm new to the NW Burbs of Chicago (way out by McHenry/Woodstock area), thanks to my husband's job relocation...just wanting to maybe make a few new friends via the Mini clubs... We really don't know very many people here yet....

I have a gorgeous chili red '05 Mini Cooper (with checkerboard side mirrors and black/white hood stripes) bought originally in Cincinnati before we moved out here. I absolutely love it!! I have never been so happy with a car as this one!! The folks at Cincy Mini were amazing too....That was the most easy, fun, and great car buying experience I ever had...

I only see maybe 1 or 2 other mini's way out here...(and they never wave or act friendly... What a shame) Would like to possibly attend a Mini gathering somewhere and meet some new folks, chat with some new people...

We are in our 30's and enjoy roadtrips, karaoke, anything/everything to do with 1950's, retro/mod/kitsch, music, movies, concerts...roadside America, pop culture....

Motoring ID ZIP066 .... (need to get my stickers on!!)

Welcome here. Chili Red is a cool color for a MINI.

We purchased a 2006 Mini S convertible, orange, automatic 10/31/05. We live in Long Grove (about 10-15 miles from you) and I am trying to figure out whether I want to join a Mini club and, if so, which one. There are a few in the Chicago area. We also belong to the Windy City Miata Club (we just sold our second Miata), so we know that these types of club can be a lot of fun.

Our greatest interest in a club is to (a) gather auto info that could help us improve the appearance, comfort and performance of the Mini, and (b) participate with the club in weekend excursions...hopefully tearing up twisty roads in the country (Wisconsin and northwest Illinois...maybe further away...obviously, away from the flat of the Chicago area)

So, if you see an orange Mini convertible in the spring with the top down and a silver haired cuty grinning from ear to ear, that would be my wife. (She won't let me use the car.)

You are going to have to take it or buy your own so you don't miss out on the fun, good luck. Welcome to the MINI world.
