MCS handled GREAT in the SNOW!

I took my MCS to work yesterday in the snow and with the Bridgestone Blizzak REVO1 snowtires, I was passing SUVs that were creeping along on the Palisades Interstate Parkway here in lower New York. The handling was flawless on snowcovered roads during my 46 mile commute. VERY pleased!

I can't wait for it to snow so I can get out and play! I wanted to get the blizzacks but had to settle for the Micheline X-Ice. They are awesome in the snow. Nothing like passing 4x4's when they're diggin for grip.

I had the same thoughts as you, it's so much fun! I have the Perelli Wintersport 240 tires and they are awsome!

We bought our MCS from Classic MINI in Ohio in December of 2004 and drove her back across the country to Sacramento. We hit a MAJOR blizzard in Utah. (They closed the highway shortly after we got through.)

I had only had the car for a week, and she was shod with "performance" run-flats. I grew up in the midwest and had driven through some major storms, had a lot of experience driving lots of different vehicles in snow, and this was one of the two or three worst storms I'd ever driven in.

To make a long story short, Tillie performed flawlessly. The DSC light only flickered once the whole time - as I was changing lanes and going over the "humps" of snow the big rigs had packed.

What a great car!

(In fact, one of Tillie's many nicknames occured to me during that night - "The Brave Little Toaster"! If she hadn't already told me her name was Tillie, I would have named her that.)

I think a lot of people don't realize how good the ground clearance is on these things. There are a lot of speed bumps and driveways here in town that my other cars (including a Dodge Caravan!) have scraped on, and the MINI doesn't scrape. That ground clearance helps a lot in the snow, I'm sure.

I'm glad to hear about the Blizzaks. I don't have them, but am considering buying them in the future. I'm also glad to hear that the car did well in the snow with the fun-flats, which I have now. But nonetheless, I DON'T look forward to driving in the snow to work, whenever that happens.
