Chicago area MC exhausts

I will be picking up a new MC next month in the Chicago area and would love to be able to hear Supersprint, My Mini, and/or the Borla cat-back exhaust (non-S) to help decide which one to buy.

I live in Iowa, so I have not had the opportunity to hear any over here. I am planning to motor around the Chicago area for a day to give the car a shake down before going back home so would be able to meet any place in the area.

Well I'm not sure I can help you with first hand exhaust comparisons but I would recommend checking out these two reviews from MotoringFile:

http://www.motoringfile.com/2003/03/...exhaust_review

http://www.motoringfile.com/2004/09/...sprint_exhaust

I've heard both systems plus the magnaflow, borla and a few others. The Remus and Supersprint probably have the most refined note. The Supersprint is the most well made I've seen.

One more to consider is the JCW Sound Kit (cat-back exhaust, air intake, and ECU remap). It (and other JCW components) tends to get ridiculed on NAM for being higher priced, but it does give a good sound.

Well I'll have to recommend Milltek since no one else has. Sorry to expand your choices.

Try this link for info and sound clips.

just noticed that was for S coopers, but will give you some idea. You can do a search on the main NAM site for MC sexhaust sound and will get alot of hits, many have clips.

Not considering JCW as I plan to run H-stock autocross, otherwise I would.

My MINI is in at Bill Jacobs and I will probably be picking it up during the middle or end of next week.

Please, is there anyone in the greater Chicago area or any place between there and E. Iowa with a Cooper with a Supersprint or MyMini exhaust that I can meet up with and hear?
