Interior/Exterior Factory Front Mud Gaurds: Nice!
Factory Front Mud Gaurds: Nice!
Ordered a set of the factory front mud guards/flaps for my wife's 05 MCSa.
I used octane guy's great write up here, so not install pics from me:

They have been on for about two weeks, and I have to say they do a real nice job of keep excess crap of the side of the car. Still get some stuff, but the overall amount of spray on the sides is greatly reduced.
I tried to install them with the wheels still on, no dice, I needed to take mine off. If you had a 90° drill it might work, but I don't....
For about $14, you can't go wrong.
cheers!

I installed them and like them too. They do help, and with a Pepper White car I could use all the help I can get. They even look good.
I used a standard electric hand drill and was able to install without removing wheels. First I turned wheels all the way to the right. This allowed me to drill the inner hole on the left side and the outer hole on the right. To drill the inner hole, I had to turn the handle of the drill around so that it pointed away from me and towards the ground. With some manuevering, I was able to position the drill so that suspension parts weren't in the way and it was able to drill at a proper 90 degree angle. Repeat with the wheels turned the other way for the two other holes.

Yes, these are the front mud flaps. As for the rear flaps, according to reports on the MINI2 boards, they don't help (otherwise I would have gotten them). Drilling is through plastic only (the black wheelwell trim).
Mine didn't come with instructions. Official instructions are here: http://www.motoringfile.com/howto/Fr...ud%20Flaps.PDF

My Mini dealer told me the front mud flaps would not fit on the MCS. They were only for the MC. I didn't question it, although I did not see were the conflict would be. But it sure sounds like several MCS owners are putting on the front mud flaps. Are the mud flaps anything special, or just the stock flaps for the "MC".
