There are a few aftermarket shelves that fit under the toggles. For 05, it looks like MINI added their own storage bin. But it looks smaller and less useful than what folks did before.

Do any of the aftermarket "shelves" fit in the space now on an 05/06?

I never understood why went to the trouble of redesigning the console shelf and only adding enough space for a pair of sunglasses. Simpy closing in the space like the 02-04 aftermarket units would seem to give you the most storage space.

 

I just ordered this from Triple-C, they have 2 on their site. One is for 2002-2004 and the other is for 2005+. Here's the link. If it doesn't work, just go to the Triple-C site and do a search on "console".
