so i recieved two aux audio cables when i ordered one and i was thinking if the connector is unique to the MINI's radio unit or is the possibility of the aux connector be able to hook up to other radio units?

 

I can't be certain, but I'm pretty sure it's a MINI only thing. You can check out what other OEMs this make of head unit goes into, but odds are it won't fit - from the looks of the wiring harness it's pretty specific, given Nav, Aux, etc.
