Second Annual Christmas Ride and Toy Collection

Plan now for the Second Annual Christmas Ride through Magic MINI's Cullman County home roads and collect toys for Toys for Tots. The day is Saturday, December 10, 2005. I am not sure yet what time we will start, but my guess would be about 2:30 OR 3 PM. More information will be available later, but for now reserve the date for this MINI event.

2:30-3:00 That sure seems like a very late time of day to start.

Wouldn't it be better to use some of the daylight that is so precious at this time of year and start in the morning?

I would have to look back at last year to see what Birmingham departure tiem we had, but it was somewhere around 1:30. We drove up to Cullman and met with the Rocket City MINIs. We had a little time for chit chat, then took off on the ride, which lasted about 30 to 45 minutes at a pretty fast click. After the ride, more talking and picture-taking, then we went into a restaurant a the end of the ride to eat and more talk. Afterwards we collected all the toys and lined up to head out to Hville or Bham. By the time we got to the restaurant, it was getting pretty clsoe to dark-thirty.

I think I know someone who might be willing to lend out his BRG MCS to you for the event!

He won't be needing it since he'll be in my passenger seat!

Magic, keep them on the run a little longer. I just recieved a tip where there may be a donor MINI not being watched.

Just think. Since you Zaino'd your MINI a few months ago, you now have the shiniest dents in Alabama. Look at how well water is beading up on the dent.

Did you get any word on the repair shop if they are willing to work on MINI's?

Man, that is terrible. I hate it for you. I know some folks have taken their MINI to Tom Williams and they have done the repair work. You may want ot check with them before you go elsewhere and get a botched job. I should have warned you that drivers in Bham are the worst. If if didn't happen in Bham I would have expected to happen here. Like SB said, after looking at it again, that Zaino makes a dent look good. Sorry Magic

I forgot to ask - ARE you OK? Other than having to look at your injured MINI.

All I can say is I was not in bham. I was in Decatur at a compass bank and the pole in the parking lot just jump out in my way.

Really it was raining very hard and I just didn't see the pole when I started back. So yes I'm o.k. but the pole will think twice before messing with me again.

Well I zaino my Mini like every two weeks but this time was more like a month and yes still the water beads.

I haven't call any shops yet. There is a shop on my exit that does really great work and they may do it.

I am sure it would be better to get it repaired near your home town if you can but if you can't I recommend Joe Hudson's Collision Center on Valleydale Road (accross from the new Hoover High School at Spain Park). They did some work for me on a previously owned car & they recently fixed my boss's Lexus. I am very picky about a repair paint job (I have in the past made a body shop repaint a car over & over for a 6 week period until they got it right) but at Joe Hudson's on both my car & my boss's you could not even tell it was a repainted or ever wrecked. They do really good work there

Thanks for the info. I will keep them in mind if I can't find someone closer.

For Thanksgiving I want to thank those who, although they aren't in Alabama, have enquired about where to send toys for the Alabama MINIs Toys for Tots. Thanks for your generosity. We have our toys (MINIs) and enjoy the excitement they bring to our lives, so it is great to have an opportunity to give some excitement and joy to children. Christmas is afterall for the children. SpiderX, you are the man. May God bless you all.

Second Annual Christmas Ride (a.k.a catch me if you can run)

December 10th 2005,
Second Annual Christmas Ride (a.k.a catch me if you can run) and Toys for Tots Collections.
This year we will start the run on exit #282 (Robbins/Warrior exit). There is a BP gas station to the right if you are coming from Huntsville and to the Left off the exit if you coming from Birmingham. Birmingham group will have to come over the bridge to the BP station.
I say we should meet around 2:30pm just to give us time to talk and to make it to the restaurant by 4:00pm.
Things you will need to remember: The roads will be very curvy so you may want to tie down anything that may move. Bring your two way radios so I can call out turns. Have them set to 7-21 (Channel 7, Sub Channel 21). If you don’t have a two radio someone will have one you can use.

So Catch me if you can.

Please let me know if you coming to the event or even think you might so I can let the restaurant know how many are coming.
kerry@magicmini.com

By the way bring a toy or I will run off and leave you.

That was good. The reason I will run off and leave everybody is because my mini is much lighter after hitting the pole. But I hope to have it fixed by then.

Ok MINI owners we got children and we need toys. Get out there and recruit some of your Fellow MINI owners to participate. They don't have to ride, or ride and eat, but dropping off a toy would be da bomb. Do what you can and then do just a little bit more. Thanks

Restaurant Change

There has been a Restaurant change this year. The normal Christmas run Restaurant is booked for the 10th. So I have come up with another restaurant. They serve a little everything so maybe everybody can eat something they like.
I hope to see everyone there.

Does everyone have a toy? Don't forget to fill up, bring your camera, and two-way radios. For those leaving from BHam we will meet at the Hobby Lobby Parking lot at the Fieldstown Rd exit from I-65 North (Exit 271). We will meet there at 1:00 pm to have time for visiting and anyone who might want to drop off a toy, but cannot make the ride. We will probably leave at about 1:45 or 2:00 pm depending on where we are going to meet to begin the ride. Hope to see everyone turn out for this to have a good day to ride and collect toys to make for a Merry Christmas for some children.

edited by Yucca Patrol to add interstate exit number
