OK - This is a PCA (Porsche Club of America; Hurricane Region) event, but it's open to all makes/models and licensed drivers. It is a GREAT opportunity to learn what your car can do in a controlled environment.
Incedentally, there is also info on the page about buying track gear (helmets, suits, etc.) if interested.
For those that aren't aware, Drivers Education events don't classify as "racing" so it is covered in your auto insurance policies (most) and doesn't effect your health insurance (most), etc. It is still high-speed, performance driving on a closed course, and requires safety equipment (often just a helmet and roll bar for convertables) and liability waiver. Beginners get theory/classroom and practical instruction before they're turned loose on the course.
This is high-octane sort of stuff!
