Please recommend cheap, effective 16 inch snow tires for mcs .

I've only read good things about the bridgestone blizzak ws-50. So much so that I bought them! They're coming saturday, so I can't tell you first hand what they can do.
What i DO know is that michelin arctic alpins are excellent. Not sure they make them anymore though, or they might have a new name. Call alex to find out.
While you're buying winter tires, you might consider the 15 inch steel wheels for 44$ a pop at tirerack. They are black so they won't show too much grime and they keep your nice 16 inchers off the road in the winter.
