Goodyear F-1s, Two Thuumbs Up !!

Greetings,

On a referal from this forum I had Francis Tire & Auto Service install a new set of Goodyear F-1 tires on my '03 MCS. Due to such positive comments I made the trek from Stuart to N. Miami on Thursday. A two hour drive !!

Francis is a great guy and a real MINI / Mini enthusiast !! He owns a very highly modified MSC that boasts about 245 HP and is loaded with a host of performance and appearance items. He is also the proud owner of a Midnight Blue Classic MCS that is absolutely pristine.

Francis and his assistant did a great job mounting the new treads and then performing a precision alignment. The car tracks better now than when I bought the car.

Wow, the F-1s really transform the ride, much quieter and smoother that the Dunlop run-flats. However, I must say that I found the Dunlops a very good tire. We got 30,054 miles on those tires, and that includes one Evolution Driving School .

I would highly recommend Francis for MINI maintenance and upgrades.
He's a very friendly guy who really knows and appreciates MINIs. BTW: Mounting, Balancing and Alignment: $125.00 OTD. Braman MINI in WPB wanted $149.00 plus tax just for the alignment. Francis offers quality work at reasonable prices.

I'll be back !!

Best Regards,
Ron

Ive used both the Bridgestone Potenza S03 Pole Position tires and the Goodyear Eagle F1 GS-D3 tires (why are tire names so long?)

The Bridgestones are a slightly better performing tire, the Goodyears are less expensive and almost as good. Both are way more tire than you need on the street.

The Bridgestones got pretty noisy as they approached the wear bars. I haven't had the Goodyears long enough to see how noisy they get.

Nope... if you were going for high mileage on a set of tires.

My 80,000 miles are split between the stock Goodyear runflats, Nokian snow tires, the Bridgestones, and the Goodyear F1s. The F1 and the snow still have tread left. I didn't track exact mileages on each set of tires, though.

Greetings,

Having put a few hundred miles on the tires, I'm really impressed with how quiet they are and how much grip they have. I'm really happy with the F-1s.

I'm pretty happy with the F1s as well after 10K miles . GREAT grip in the rain and good grip in the dry. Plus they are quiet and ride better than the run-flats.
