Drivetrain 04 to 05 ?
04 to 05 ?
A local dealer had a used 04 with a Miltek exhaust, no header. It also had a pulley but I'm not sure if it was a 15% or 19%. I took it out just to hear the sound of the Miltek Compared to my 05 I was really disapointed. For starters it was slower then mine which is stock, the noise was annoying and the worst part was this vibration which wasn't comming from the wheels. If I let off the gas and coasted it went away but as soon as I hit the gas it came back and was very annoying. Does that exhaust cause excess vibration? I think something was seriously wrong with the car being that it was considerably slower then my stock 05 or is there that big of a difference between the two years.
Having previously owned a stock '04 MCS I can tell you that the '05 MCS feels like it has 45HP more than the '02-'04 MCS right out of the box. First gear is 11% shorter in comparison to the pre-2005 MCS. Also the added HP, revised ECU, revised Exhaust and second generation Eaton supercharger (Same one used in the JCW kit) have totally and completely transformed the car.
I much prefer the torquey demeanor of the '05 MCS over the older MCS any day of the week.
