Street tires/rain tires for Solo II

I have a set of Hoosers now for the dry. Looking for a every day spring/summer/fall tire that could be a rain tire if needed. Driving on 16 x 6.5 AK Monza's. I have Falkin Azenis on the car now. They are getting a little thin for the rain in Washington DC (though they still have some autocross life in them). I thought they did ok in the rain (street that is) when there was tread, but the ride was a bit hard. The biggist gripe is that the weight but that is not so bad because the grip is good.

Any ideas?

I would consider the 225/45R16 Hankook ventus RS2 or whatever the new one is. It is the closest to stock diameter that I have found. I was considering this route, but decided that I will probably end up going with Hoosier Wets instead.

You have your Hoosiers on what rims?
And you want street tires on the Monzas or on X-lytes?

For street tires that can be used in the rain there are several options from those that are more expensive like Goodyear Eagle F1 GS-D3 and Bridgestone Potenza S-03 to those that are more economic like Yokohama AVS ES100 or Avon Tech M500.

If you want to use the street tires for autocross/wet performance driving then consider

I have three sets of wheels for the car. All are 16x6.5 inches. The stock rims will be for winter. I use the two lite sets for autocross and summer street tires. Thanks for the help.

I have dedicated wheels and tires for:
autocross
autocross fun runs (older autocross tires that are worn)
track
Street use- which doubles for wet autocross
Street/ car shows

The Hankook Ventus Rs2 should work for you, but are really an alternative to true race rubber on a budget and under dry conditions. Personally I favor getting good street rubber that performs well in the wet like Bridgestone Potenza S-03 or Goodyear Eagle F1 GS-D3s, only problem is the expense.

Rain tires for sale

I have a set of very nice goodyear eagle F1GS D3's in 205/50-16 that are very good street and rains. Also a set of slightly used Kumho 205/45-16 V700's that are fine as intermediate rains or below 50F cold weather race tires or summer street use tires. $400 for either set shipped. The Eagles are really great in major water-heavy downpour or puddles. The Kumho's are great when it's damp but not really dry enough for full race tires.
