Extended maintenance warranty cost question

Anyone know a reasonable price of a dealer for the extended maintenance warranty (36K to 50K miles, 1 year)...

Dealers here in Cali are charging from $650 -$850... By the way, can I buy this in any dealer in the country and use it here in CALI??

thanks

www.nwmini.com There extended maint warranty is 499.00 plus tax. You should be able to buy it at any dealer and use at any dealer just like the original. Just call around give them your info and have them send it to you.
Good luck

Sweet.. THanks Minirox, I will give them a try.. I guess I will have to wait for Monday... Classic Mini only has theirs for $395 but unfortunately, I can only use their maintenance extension in their facility ....

It turns out that it only costs dealerships about $350 for for this extended maintenance warranty from MINI USA but each dealer has the right to mark it up ....

Don't understand...did you buy the extended maintenance warranty from MINI USA? If so, how can Classic restrict it exclusively to their facility?

Oh no.. as I was shopping around for the lowest cost of extended maintenance, I happen to call Classic Mini. I was shocked to find out that their extended maintenance was only $395... But when I told them I was from Cali, then they said "unfortunately their extended maintenance only applies for their facility"...

As I was calling around CALI though, every single dealer told me that I can use the extended maintenance in any MINI dealership if I get theirs (between $650-$895)...

So it was strange that Classic Mini's extended maintenance only applies to their facility. But in a way it makes sense, they are not making $$$ in the maintenance warranty plan, so they sell it cheap so that they make $$$ from MINI USA when you take your car in for a service.

I guess the dealership in CALI would rather make $$$ up front...

I would suggest not to volunteer more info than necessary and ask the question if I move is the extended warranty good anywhere. I really don't think they can limit the extended warranty, regardless of what they say they are not the ones who are paying BMW is.
