So I was in line at 3am after a rain-delayed Pepsi 400 (NASCAR) in Daytona. I felt like cattle getting prepped for the chop house. In the middle of this long wait, I feel a tap on the shoulder.

I have my 2005 MOTD shirt on. A woman asks "is that some sort of race?" And I give her a little background. She and her husband tell me they have a 03 S. We had a short convesation about MINIs. It was so nice to meet a MINI fan in the middle of a nightmare walk to the car.

Plus, shortly after, I looked to my left and saw a guy with a Dragon 129 shirt on!

We're everywhere!

 

Little encounters w/ MINI owners just make my day!!!! I am amazed, though, that of all the owners I run into consistently, apparently few are plugged into the local MINI scene or have any idea about the on-line community. Most seem to genuinely enjoy chatting it up w/ another neighborhood owner though.
