I have an unusual request for the Chicago Mini community--

My '04 MCS was stolen & promptly crashed last week, and it'll be a total. Insurance is covering everything, and obviously I'm in the market for another Mini.

There is an interesting '03 JCW MCS sitting on a lot, close to Joliet.

I am ready to pick something up by this weekend, and this vehicle is a seemingly good deal. I have spoken to the dealer, ran the carfax, and ran a history check at the local Mini dealer & everything seems to check out.

But, like any used car, it pays to see it in person. I am hoping someone in the Chicago Mini group, whom is familiar with JCW's, would be willing to view & drive the car to get their impression. I would certainly owe you at least a good meal & a few beers for checking out the car!

I noticed there are a few cosmetic mods, so I'm a little worried if there's any shoddy aftermarket work on the car. Also, no damage is readily apparent in the pics. The dealer says it's tip-top, but you know how dealers are....

Like I said, I'm ready to wire them some cash if everything checks out--and, if it really is as good a deal as it seems, I would appreciate it not being bought out from under me.
