First time getting on it.

Well, driving my new 05 MCS like a good boy (1300 miles on the odo)... and the thing is actually quite smooth and quiet (my other car is a Toyota Tacoma truck) so, even with breakin milage past... I'm being, well... peaceful.

This STS (Cadillac) decides I'm not going fast enough into the on ramp for the expressway and starts really crowding my bumper. Hmmm, that's not very nice. Now... this on ramp is a very tight "S" and would seem to offer a good opportunity to move the RPM limit up a bit... and the STS seems to agree... so lets see what she'll do! (Do I hear a drum roll).

Holy ST!

I was peaceful for the rest of the commute... so was the STS I suspect, as we both digested the event.

He tried to stay on my bumper... but, ooooh my god , does the MINI rip through transitions. I could actually apex the turns and I ripped through there so fast that my retinas were distorting. I'm not sure how fast I went through as I was busy (second going in, came out hard in third). It refused to drift and I almost cut the apexi (plural) too close. I seemingly teleported to the bottom of the ramp... slowed, and merged. The STS driver seemed a bit stunned as was I. He politely came up behind me on the expressway, and we both motored on, peacefully, towards our destination. Peaceful.... 3 to 5 seconds of motoring violence... and peaceful motoring again. It was the ease of going from peace to violence and back that was disorienting.

I love that ramp, so does MINI. STS's have a lot of back seat room.

His STS needed the extra back seat room to throw his shorts after the "event"!

What timing for your MCS to break-in in on time to show this STS what MC is made of? Wish I can see he/her face after you rip through the ramp. Well done Solarmax_Racing

On-ramps and exit ramps are where we can have a WHOLE lot of fun with our MINIs, Solar! I love entering on-ramps and getting up to speed! The most legal fun possible in the MINI!

Though I'm still in my break-in period and can't push it too much, a few times I have just circled around all 4 cloverleafs of a nearby interstate exit just for the fun of it.

I couldn't agree more. If I have a passenger, this is where they look over at me and say, "Whoa, this car is fast!"

I absolutely love an open traffic-free twisty on-ramp! It really makes you love your Mini even more. It's basically a 2600 lb go-kart.

Welcome to post-breakin Solarmax!

Although my break-in period lasted about 3 hours and 300 miles into my initial pickup of the car. The Go Pedal simply couldn't resist my right foot.

There was a science fiction story about a peaceful race that did not believe in war. A human visitor to their planet was studying their culture and happened to be there when a marauding race of planet killers began to attack them.

The human visitor feared the worst for his peaceful friends but they seemed unconcerned for themselves... and seemed to pity the attackers.

"how can you feel for those merciless killers when they will likely kill you all"

The head of the great library where the human was studying replied "our race has survived many such attacks as we have great riches in the eyes of those who would steal".

"But how could this be, you are a people of peace, you do not believe in war!"

"War implies a battle... and this is no such thing" replied the librarian as he pressed the button which vaporized the invading fleet.

Beware those who pick on merging MINI's... it is not a war.

Hey, that sounds like the Organians in Classic Trek! But they didn't hurt anyone, they just made 'em stop.

When I have to go to the dealer, and whatever is getting done won't take long, they send me off for a test drive, rather than have me hanging around asking hard questions There is a nice newly paved 4 ramp interchange right next to the dealer. I tend to head there, and just go round and round it till I figure my car is ready

Nice Story. At least your Mini won't be in the shop every other week. My aunt had an sts and it was the biggest pos. In the shop every other week it seemed. Brand new and not 2 weeks later she had it in the shop. Now she has a nice avalon that hasn't had a lick of trouble with...

Doing the 4 loops on a cloverleaf interchange is what we use to call a 1080. You actually end up doing a 270 degree turn 4 times, or a 1080.

I know, I've been told before, a compendium of useless information.
