Help me ship a MINI

Hello, A Co-worker of mine is really excited to be a MINI owner. She is looking to buy used and needs help with aranging for the shipping.
I know alot of people have used concours covered shipping but $1400 is cost prohibitive for a used purchase. So....

Please give recomendations for quality transporters, does not need to be covered just someone who takes care with their cargo? Thanks!

Road trip!

Pay a friend to take Greyhound to the destination and then drive back. That's the cheapest. I took the AMTRAK train to Pittsburgh and then drove back to Delaware. A little road trip never hurt anyone.

A MINI owner is never afraid of motoring!

I've been through this already. I needed a reliable shipping company to ship my car from Ohio to California. The cheapest open carrier I found is $800. The only problem is, they didn't know the exact day of pick up (1-7 days). Then I would be looking at another 7-10 days in transport. I decided to use the company that was recommended by the dealership. If you don't mind the wait and want to save some dough, you can call the transport company I'm using now. I'm paying $1350 for an enclosed carrier, which is cheaper than any other carrier I spoke to. It should be cheaper for an open carrier, but call them for a quote. His name is Kenny and his number is (817)834-6767. Good luck!!

That is a good suggestion. I am sure that she is too busy to drive it back herself but surely a trustworthy neice or nephew or someone has the summer off and would love to drive a MINI accross the country!

I went from VA to CA in February. Would love to do it again for the price of airfare and some beer (after the drive!) I've got the vacation days...
Where is she going from/to?
