For Sale: 2005 Hyper Blue MCS w/ 900 miles.

Hello all,

I've had this car since May 21. I only had to wait two months for it, and after only two weeks, I've decided it isn't the car for me. MSRP was $27,740. Obviously, that would be what I'm asking since I haven't even made the first payment on this baby. If interested, e-mail me directly at emantabrizi@yahoo.com

Thank You.

Wow! That is too bad. Sorry the car didn't work out for you What's wrong with it?

Also make sure to post pics of your MCS to awake interest

Good luck.

Ay Caramba!!!!

This is too funny!!!

Quick Hyper Blue, get rid of it before it self destructs in your garage

Buddy, you read too much into these forums. Give the car a chance for Pete's sake! This is a PREMIUM product far superior in my experience to anything Honda/Acura or Japan, Inc is currently putting out in the market.

Take it from me, a guy that owned nothing but Hondas and Acuras for 12 years and after the MINI have not looked back!

I've had Hondas and Acuras for many years. And yes, they are reliable and comfortable. But my MCSC is exhilarating.

After reading this thread, I'm sure this quote will pass through my mind as I smile while driving (top down) this afternoon: "Toto, I've a feeling we're not in Kansas anymore!"

$27,740 for a used stock MCS - get out of town.

You won't even start getting offers until you drop the price 2/3K and posting a picture wouldn’t hurt. Having not made a payment isn’t a selling point only a mistake you made if you don’t like the MINI so don't blame buers if they won't pay your loan off.

BTW was that MSRP or is the $27,740 added price with tax and licence. Buyers won't suck that up either because they have to pay their own.

Makes me feel great that i liked the mini's for over 2 years before purchasing, and you can't get me AWAY from that car. i average 35 mpg on almost all highway travel. i LOVE it.

I've owned mine 2 1/2 VERY HAPPY and VERY WORTH THE WAIT months and 7k miles of pure enjoyment. Taking it in for service is a GOOD thing, (under warranty ) you have a great excuse to check out the new herd of mini's on the dealership lot, breeze around the show room, read the brochures, and drool over the "garaged" mini you can't afford There's AWESOME local clubs to hang out with and tool around on drives. And what's more fun than taking a trip in the mini to every store in the area, and jumping up and down when you find a mini toy? I <3 mini's. I know plenty more people feel this way.

And Hyper Blue? What a pretty color! With all those awesome options you got, i say you picked a good one. If you're totally convinced it's not the car for you, no one's holding you back. I'm truly sorry it didn't work out. I'm sure the new owner will appreciate it very much.

 This is a very nice car..but i dont know if you can expect to sell it for msrp. The dealers here in california are selling at mrsp in the san jose area. The only reason i would even consider buying one of these cars for such a price hike is because you can select everything on it.. if it was just a packaged good, which essential a used mini is.. its instant depreciation. Unfortunately i know the sickening feeling of buying stuff and then having to sell it for 30% less a week later

There are dealers in S.J. now?

I guess the seller of the car just didn't like it compared to the honda products. Oh well.

Hyper Blue, Where Are You?

Hyper Blue, you go through the trouble of making a new thread, then you don't even check in to see if it has any replies... what's up with that?

We all know that a MINI is a "unique" car, but what specifically about yours don't you like?

DIDN'T YOU TEST DRIVE ONE FIRST? I sure hope you did, ....... I sure hope you tested one first...

Let's assume that you did test drive a MINI or two, what's so different about your own Hyper Blue MINI, compared to the one(s) you tested, that you dislike it so much?

Lastly, you'll NEVER get 27k for it! As soon as you drove it off the lot, the big D was silently and invisibly riding shotgun. That's right--Depreciation. You're going to have to take a significant hit here, no doubt.

I'm sorry. Good luck in the future.

When I test-drove the MCS, it had the JCW kit on it. That car was a blast to drive, and that's what made me want one in the first place. However, I couldn't justify the $6,000 to get it. I figured the stock, 170 hp motor would be sufficient. It really isn't. I'm wanting to get a Honda S2000 or a supercharged '05 Acura RSX. What can I say? I'm addicted to VTEC. I was raised on VTEC, and I miss it. If nobody buys my car, then no big deal. I'll just trade it. I just wanted to give those people out in California a chance to buy a LOADED MCS right now...instead of waiting 6-8 months. By the way, the $27,740 is MSRP, and does not include tax, title, and license. Also, if you're not interested in this car, then don't waste my time and everyone else's by posting a flame.

If anyone will buy my 03' with 45k miles lightly modded (MTH, 15% pulley, UUC exhaust, Konig rims, Alta SSK, Gauges, and AGS intake (not yet installed)) for $21,000. I would gladly take Hyper Blue's Mini off his hands. Any takers?!?!?

I am not joking.

Not trying to change your mind, Hyper, but if you're looking for 200HP you can get in that vicinity with ~$1K of aftermarket mods, starting with a 15% pulley. That would be cheaper than swapping cars, but it won't get you a VTEC.
Have you been observing the 4500 RPM break-in recommendation? If so, you've still got 2K RPM of power left that you haven't explored.

FWIW, if a CA buyer wanted an out of State car, he could get a new one for MSRP in 2 months, just like you did.
Did you post your specs somewhere? That might help pique interest, vs. just the asking price.
Alternatively, ebay and autotrader are good options. Good luck!

Just curious.. You couldn't justify the $6k for the JCW, BUT you were looking for a performance car... then why not pass on all the extras like Xenon, Nav, leater etc and put THAT money into the JCW?

The S2k is in a totally different class, and I can understand taking that over the MCS, RWD, race-bred engine that's a hell of a car ... But an RSX over the MCS? you have to be kidding..

Isn't there some law, or at least in some states that guarantee a 30day return policy?

It seems to me that the dealer only had a JCW for test drives available and took orders for MC and MCS without the options...i little hinky.....anyway who out there knows anything about return rights on a car?

I just did a quick search and found laws for used car return rights and lemon laws but nothing for new cars.

I will also say that In my opinion it would be wrong to return the car if there is nothing wrong with the car, passing the cost of failed transaction on to other consumers. But, nevertheless It is his choice

And on top of the $$$ spent on extras, now the loss to get rid of the car...all that will surely add up to the $6,000 for the JCW.

However, I am sorry that the purchase didn't work out for you. Probably Autotrader or an online site would be your best bet to sell.

BTW... new S2000 cost around $33000. Your MCS cost around $27000. From what you said the JCW cost $6000 more. If you have $33k at the beginning, you should well spend it on the MCS+JCW. If I were you, I would spend $3000 on after market part and mod it out perform the JCW upgrade.. anyway good luck on your selling.

LOL Ahhhhh...no.

SOME dealers have a 1-3 day buyers remorse period, but most do not, nor do they need it. You actually think it's a PROBLEM that they took the order? Give me a break! It's called freedom - he was able to order whatever he wants. If he was smart, he would tested what he was buying, either at his or another dealer. No one forced him to order, and the dealer is certainly not responsible for anyone's actions. Hell, if they denied an order because they didn't have the exact car to test, in this day and age they would probably be sued!
