My '04 MINI is loosing some "juice" running with the AC. It's not stalling at a stop, but going from 1st to second gear, if the AC is running high...I can definitively tell a change.....the AC is taking power away from the engine...is this a software issue and can I get it adjusted at my dealer ship ?

That's what AC does man. It's a power robbing luxury.

never owned a 4 cylinder huh?

by the way what does the color light blue (azzuro or Italian national soccer team) have to do with your AC?

MINI effectively solved this quirk of the '02-'04 MCS generation with the performance improvements in the '05 MCS. Living in hot as an oven Miami, I MUST run the A/C at all times and I am pleased to report that the A/C no longer "robs" power from the engine.

On the other hand, the ECU software in these cars still have problems and high heat/humidity still spells trouble. The current software does not like hot/humid ambient temperatures, hence the stalling, hesitation, etc.

It's not a software issue, it's hardware. If you have an MCS, get a 15% pulley installed and it's almost like driving a stock MCS with the AC off. That's how I sold my wife that I needed the pulley.

The AC does rob power in my MC.Thats why I only use it in hot, stop and go traffic when in the city.Since most of my motoring is on the highway and back roads,I turn the AC off and roll down the windows.I know that this may effect MPG,but at 38+MPG,I don't care:smile:
