I am reserving my judgement until I see it in the flesh. I had high hopes for it being sexier and curvier then the turtleback 911 form from the prototypes, but the new release photos from the side now look a bit odd, not the nice lines it seemed it would be like.
So far it doesn't look like it will not come close to having the nice butt of my M Coupe :D
This is the photo from the side that made me think twice - the line of the roof/back windshileld to the fender... I dunno. Again, will wait to decide until I see it
The profile looks good for the front half of the vehicle, then Porsche seems to have screwed the pooch. The roof line peaks too soon, and drops off too abruptly; additionally, it seems that there is a hatch access or maybe a side opening rear door a la XKE-Coupe, all wrong for this car. Also the glass behind the door is inelegant to say the least.
Send the design team to California to learn how to do a sports coupe right.
This photo kind of sucks for evaluating the roofline because the car isn't level. It does seem to look a little bit better if you tilt your head into line with it.
The rear end is what reminds me of the Beetle, not the foglights (although maybe those would too, if I had any idea what the Beetle foglights looked like). I can't think of any other car where the rear slopes down between the fenders in that distinct way.
