I have have 03 MCS that has only 9200 miles on the clock. I take the MINI in for service to get a new window motor for the drivers side door because the window would not roll down.

When I picked the car up, I see on the work order the following fixes:

1. New window motor

2. Recall for crankcase breather hose

3. Recall for crank case vent tube hose

4. Recall 04E-A01 Reprogram DME control module

5. Recall for LBL Code 8 EPS Fan Diode

The window seems to be working fine, and I used to brag about the low miles on my MINI, but now I think I'm going to start loading on the miles before the warranty expires. Don't take this post as a rant. Hey I love this MINI. But I think now, I'm just gonna drive the MINI quite abit more and get all the FREE fixes I can before I gotta start paying for em myself.:smile:

 

Be glad you got your window motors replaced before the warranty expired. I had to replace BOTH of mine and they were $300+ EACH. Not much fun I can promise you. I think there was a bad batch of motors there!

 

How do you know if your motors may be bad?? Does it make a funny sound if the window is dirty? Like a squeaky kind of sound?

 

Mine did make that noise, but it started not working everytime I tried it and eventually it just stopped all together. I've had many cars but I've never heard of a window motor going out...let alone both of them.

 

The window started to squeek when the window started up, then after about week or so, the window just stopped in the up position.

I did a seach here on NAM and seen that the window motors on some cars has been a problem.
